Nigeria and Niger are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of hydrocarbon pipeline and refinery today in Abuja.
It was gathered that President Mahammadou Issoufou of Republic of Niger arrived in Abuja on Monday night for the ceremony.
He will on Tuesday, join Muhammadu Buhari, The President of Nigeria to witness signing of the MoU.
This was made known by President Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Bashir Ahmed, who confirmed the arrival of the Nigerien leader on Monday night in Abuja.
Ahmmed posted a short video clip on twitter showing President Buhari escorting the visiting Nigerien leader after an engagement at the Aso Rock. He posted:
”As Nigeria – Republic of Niger set to sign a Bilateral Agreement for the construction of Hydrocarbon Pipeline from Niger to Nigeria tomorrow, President Muhammadu Buhari and President Mahammadou Issoufou met tonight at the State House in Abuja,” he said.
The bilateral agreement is for the construction of hydrocarbon pipeline from the Republic of Niger to Nigeria.
