The Katsina State Government says it had spent N1.7 billion on the renovation of General Hospitals within the state in 2017.
Governor Aminu Masari disclosed this while reviewing the 2017 Budget at the presentation of 2018 appropriation before the State House of Assembly on Monday in Katsina.
According to the governor, the hospitals remodelled during the period under review, were those of Daura, Funtua, Katsina, Malumfashi and Musawa.
The governor said that the works were at different levels of completion.
Masari said that healthcare service remained one of the top priorities of the present Administration, and that plans were on to take healthcare nearer to the people.
He added that hospital equipment worth N700 million were procured in efforts to enhance quality healthcare services in the state.
