The Federal Housing Authority says it will commence the payment of contractors who had completed their jobs.
It will be recalled that not less than 200 contractors of thstaged a protest at the headquarters of the FHA in Abuja to demand for the payment of projects done.
Shedding more light on the issue, the spokesperson for FHA, Kenneth Chigelu, stated that payment which kicked off on Tuesday was in fulfilment of an agreement that was reached.between the agencies and the contractors.
The FHA said, “This is to notify our stakeholders and members of the public that the management of FHA has commenced the payment of contractors who have completed their jobs and are verified in both Zuba and Guzape sites in Abuja.
“This is in keeping with resolution reached at the meeting held between the management and the representatives of the contractors on March 16, 2021.”
He added that the agency would ensure the verification of work done before making payment for projects.
The spokesman added that the agency would continue to hold the partnership with contractors in high regard with a view to delivering its official assignment.
