The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Monday stated that a chunk of its annual budget would be expended on infrastructure, including rehabilitating moribund projects and building new ones.
FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello, stated this during an inspection tour of the ongoing road reconstruction at Bill Clinton Drive, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Bello also expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far on the road.
He noted that the pattern used in the project, which included advocacy and stakeholder consultations, would set the standard for future reconstruction work in the city.
Briefing the Minister, the Director, Engineering Services, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Mr Hadi Ahmad, said that work on the seven kilometres road was progressing.
He said that the road’s outlook had been improved with better kerbside, wider road shoulders and adequate drainage.
The Federal Executive Council had in 2018 approved the sum of N1.7 billion for the reconstruction of the Bill Clinton Drive to prevent a possible collapse of the road.
